About
Dr. Julie McGee, PT, DPT, CEAS
A physical therapist who writes, and a writer who is a physical therapist.
As a physical therapist, I am an educator. I educate patients, their families, other clinicians, and physical therapy students. Over the past several years, I fell into writing as it allows me to reach a broader audience.
During my career as a physical therapist, I’ve worked in various settings including acute rehabilitation, occupational health, ergonomics, home health, and outpatient orthopedics. Several years ago I began writing articles for blogs, websites, and magazines.
I have experience in writing about injury prevention and management, healthcare technology, wearable devices, chronic conditions, and physical therapy education.
I am a native of Massachusetts. After completing my undergraduate degree at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst I headed out west for physical therapy school. From 2005 to 2008 I attended the University of California, San Francisco/ San Francisco State University Graduate Program in physical therapy. There I obtained my Masters and Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Currently, I reside in northern California with my family. When I am not writing or treating patients I can be found either running, biking, swimming, or doing yoga.
"With my freelance service, I aim to produce writing that is succinct, down-to-earth, and fact-based. ”
